"Together Again"

Rachel M. Peloso, age 94, passed away January 19, 2022. She was born in Canton on September 3, 1927 and grew up in rural Perry Township. She graduated from Massillon Washington High School in 1945, and started working at Timken Roller Bearing Co. in the Shipping and Allocations offices, quitting in 1952 to start her family. She married Angelo Peloso in 1950 and together they raised two sons, David and Donald. She kept busy with her family that she loved, and with her interests that included crafts, crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking, bowling on leagues, watching all the Cleveland sports teams (especially the Indians), and keeping a spotless house. She loved visiting the Fenton and Westmoreland glass factories, horse racing, bus trips, collecting Precious Moments figurines, and belonging to the Precious Moments Club at Bereans. She loved her St. Anthony/All Saints Parish Family, all the Craft Ladies and the Miraculous Medal Sodality members there. She also loved to volunteer at the Italian American Festival for many years. She was an instant friend to everyone she met.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Angelo, son David, her parents Vincent and Mary (Gambone) Pellegrino, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her sister Eileen Fagan of New Castle, PA, her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Hope, cherished grandchildren Casey, Leanne, Lucy and Sarah, and her favorite, great-grandson Kaleb. Also survived by sister-in-law Marge (Peloso) Carbone, cousins Rae Whitacre, Rita Hostutler, and Alex Gambow, many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, all whom she lovingly cared about, and many good and caring friends who kept in touch with well wishes and cards over the years. The family would like to thank Aultman Hospice and the Canton Regency (especially the staff at the Magnolia Trails Memory Care unit) for their excellent care and concern for Rachel. Also thank you to all her many friends from church who encouraged her during her illness.

There will be a Mass of Christian burial at St. Anthony/All Saints Parish (1530 11th St. S.E. Canton, OH 44707) on Friday January 28 at 11:00 AM, with visitation at the church starting at 9:45 AM. Please bring and wear your masks. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made in Rachel's name to St. Anthony/All Saints Parish, The Stark County Italian American Festival Foundation Scholarship Fund, or to the Unique Club Scholarship Foundation.
