Trey Steigerwald, born January 21, 1998 of Canton, was involved in a car accident on Monday, May 27th, 2024. Despite receiving continuous care from the remarkable trauma team at St. Vincent's Medical Center of Toledo, the injuries he sustained were ultimately fatal and Trey left his earthly body on Tuesday, May 28th, surrounded by many family members.

A graduate of GlenOak High School in 2006, Trey continued his education by completing the EMT Program at Stark State and pursuing journalism at Kent State Stark. Over the years Trey explored various jobs, showcasing his exceptional ability to connect with people, which he most recently displayed at Premier Gold and Silver. He found joy in conversing with individuals and acquiring unique knowledge.

Trey had diverse interests, including music, movies and comedy. Trey even had a dream of pursuing comedy. Trey was an avid gun collector and shared a passion for rescuing animals with his wife. He was a dedicated sports enthusiast who would never miss a Dallas Cowboys, LA Clippers or Cleveland Guardians games. Additionally, he cherished playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends under the persona "Rothaga."

Trey is survived by his wife, ShyAnn Steigerwald (Claar), who he met while he was working at Texas Roadhouse in 2018. They would have celebrated their one year anniversary on June 17th, 2024. Trey is also survived by his dad, Chuck Steigerwald as well as his uncles, aunts and cousins in the Steigerwald Family; his mom, Robyn Moore (Freshley) and step dad, Doug Moore, sister, Haley (Christopher) Lynch, their children, Ryker and Ensley Lynch, brothers, Kyle (Samantha) Moore, their children Leo and Aria Moore, and Ryan Moore, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Freshley and Moore Families. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Joe Freshley, Frances "Toots" Steigerwald, and Ralph "Bud" Steigerwald.

Trey will be fondly remembered by family and friends as someone who could put a smile on everyone's face. He was generous, kind, selfless and would always do anything he could to help someone in need. Trey Steigerwald will be gravely missed by all those who loved him.

Trey's loved ones express their deepest appreciation to the dedicated trauma team at St. Vincent Medical Center of Toledo for their unwavering efforts to save Trey's life.

In honor of Trey, the family kindly requests blood donations instead of flowers, as Trey received over 50 units of blood during his time at St. Vincent's, and they believe he would appreciate replenishing this life-saving resource.

Friends and family will be received at North Canton Civic Center Sunday, June 9th, 2024 at 1 p.m. A Memorial service celebrating Trey's life will follow at 4 p.m.
