With his family gathered around him, Randolph B. Welch passed away on November 16 ^th , 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born September 7 ^th , 1943 to Boyd R. and Doris T. (Schweitzer) Welch in Akron, Ohio. Randolph is predeceased by his father Boyd, brother Roger, and infant son David. He is survived by his mother, Doris T. Welch and his siblings: Sandra, Patrice, Rodney, Rebecca, Rick, and Tod. He is also survived by his wife, of 32 years, Cynthia (Cindy) and his children; Troy, Christine, John, and Colleen Welch, as well as several nieces and nephews and two grandchildren. He was an Army helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War and returned to work at Goodyear as a machinist. He joined the Army National Guard to continue his love of flying. He became a helicopter Instructor Pilot for the Ohio Army National Guard at Akron Canton Airport and retired at the age of 60. He joined the VFW Post 9904 Greentown and continued to serve his Post as Quartermaster for several years. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He will be interred at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Monday, November 27 ^th at 11:00 am. We will have a Celebration of Life gathering at the VFW.
