Rebecca (Adams) Labowitz
Rebecca (Adams) Labowitz passed away on Sunday, December 08, 2013. She was born on February 21, 1954 and graduated from Oakwood High School. She received her Bachelor's degree from Bluffton University and Master's degree from Akron University. She taught Culinary Arts at McKinley High School and supervised The President's Room for over twenty years. She then worked in the Career and Technical Office as a Career Pathways Specialist and finally ending her career in Canton City Schools as the Director of Career and Technical Education. She retired from Canton City Schools after thirty years of dedicated service. Rebecca then worked at Stark State College helping to re-establish the Culinary Arts Program as well as being an instructor. Her love of learning and desire to lead students to a better life fueled her to work tirelessly to make everything she touched a successful venture. Rebecca was an inspiration to the lives of the countless students she touched as well as a respected mentor and friend. Rebecca was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She is survived by her loving husband Jeff, her son Nicholas, her beloved mother and stepfather Betty and Cyrus Yaghooti, her father and stepmother Theodore and Audrey Adams, her brother Steve Adams, and her Uncle Gust Eliadis. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Maxine Eakle and sister- in- law Jennifer (Travis) Bigrigg, and brother-in-law Alan (Mary) Labowitz. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Aultman Hospital and Aultman Compassionate Care Center for their outstanding and exceptional care. Calling hours will be Thursday December 12, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Rossi Funeral Home with Trisagion Services at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 4705 Fairhaven Avenue NW, Canton, Ohio 44709 Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11am, there will be viewing one hour before the funeral. Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration-Sancta Clara Monastery, 4200 Market Avenue, Canton, Ohio 44714.
