Revecca A. Abel, age 79 of Canton, passed away Monday afternoon, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Aetos, Greece on July 15, 1938, and has been a Canton resident for the last 61 years. She was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, the Silver Liners and the Daughters of Penelope. She was the owner and operator of Abel's Apartment Levels. Revecca was preceded in death by her biological parents Anastasios and Penelope (Moraitis) Nikolaou; parents Nick and Ethel Nikolou; and daughter Debbie Abel. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Frank Abel of Canton; daughter Nicoletta Papoulides of Canton; grandchildren Joshua Teeple, Anastasios Abel-Mohr and Kostas Karelis; and cousin Pete Karelis. Also survived by life long friends Olga Mammone, Georgia Kalantzis, Norma Spillios and Mary Space; and numerous Godchildren. Family and friends will be received Thursday at the Rossi Family Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Trisagion services will begin at 6 p.m. The family will also be receiving Friday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Nicholas Gamvas officiating. Interment will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery.
