Richard Capuano, age 70 of Perry Township, passed away Monday morning at his home. Rick was a 1971 graduate of Perry High School and a master craftsman with a long career working in the Massillon/Canton area as a mason contractor - both a profession and a passion. He also loved gardening and landscaping. In addition to maintaining several acres of a produce garden and fruit orchard for many years, he also took great pride in perfecting his homestead where he hosted many family gatherings, celebrations, and annual wine-making parties. Rick had a great love for his Italian heritage and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends, for whom he would do anything. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Antoinette Capuano; sisters, Theresa DeSarro, Yvonne Clark; brother, Jerry Capuano, all of Canton. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Melanie (Sanchez) Capuano of Massillon; children, Cara (Ryan) Strom of Columbus, Angelo Capuano (Cait Moran) of Denver; grandson, Luca Strom; sisters, Katherine (Jeff) Shultz, Loretta Beebe; brothers, Louis Jr. (Lucille) Capuano, Ralph (Gloria) Capuano, all of Canton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who he loved dearly. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Brian Cline as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
