Marran
November 14, 1935 – May 29, 2015
Richard J. Marran, age 79 of Canton, passed away Friday evening. Born in Canton, Ohio on November 14, 1935 to the late Victor and Teresa (Fonte) Marran. He was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish. He was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Richard was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company, as well as a self-employed barber. He also was an avid golfer and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Don. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marcia; his four children Lori (Robert) James, of Massillon, Victor (Susan) Marran, of Canton, Richard (Cindy) Marran, of Canton, and Julie (Craig) Uslick, of North Canton. Richard is also survived by his nine grandchildren Elizabeth and Dallas Foster, Emily James, Evan and Ethan Uslick, Alec and Corey Marran, and Nicole, Lauren, and Richard Marran. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish, with Rev. Fr. Thomas Kraszewski officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O Box 5014 Hagerstown, Maryland 21741-5014 in Richard's memory.
