Richard Peter Toriello of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late William and Anna (Pizza) Toriello, he was also preceded in death by his son Richard Peter Toriello Jr. and brother Joseph Anthony Toriello. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish and was very active in the church serving on parish council, a Eucharist Minister, Stephens Ministry, and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council #15458. His other other memberships and community involvements were Massillon and Canton Chambers of Commerce, Rotary International, Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 25 years, American Legion Post #221, Canal Fulton and Jackson-Belden Chambers of Commerce, and the Jackson-Belden Rotary. Rich is survived by his wife of 65 years Nancy Lee (Stanton) Toriello, children Robert Thomas and Laura Toriello, Tracy Lee and Stephen Schlitzer, four grandchildren; Ryan Edward and Paige Judith Schlitzer, Nicholas Andrew and Rebecca Anne Toriello, and brother Peter Richard Toriello.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:00 am, at St. Michael the Archangel the Archangel Catholic Parish. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rich's name may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church or Aultman Hospice.
