May 29, 1933 – December 12, 2015
Rinaldo Aquino, age 82 of Canton, passed away after a battle with Lewy Bodies Dementia early Saturday morning. Rinaldo was born in Magnolia on May 29, 1933 to the late Dominick and Maria Aquino. He was a 1951 graduate of Waynesburg High School, where he was a player on the State runner-up basketball team. Rinaldo was a veteran in the United States Navy, and was then employed by the Stark County Sheriff's Department in the maintenance department. He was a member of Christ the Servant Catholic Parish, the American Legion Post #44, and the Parkway AARP #5190. In addition to his parents, Rinaldo was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia on May 28, 2000; five brothers Vincenzo, Constantine, Rocco, Francis, and Dominick, Jr.; and two sisters Josephine and Jennie. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Rose of the home; son Vincent (Barbara) Aquino of Canton; two daughters Victoria Aquino of Canton, and Kathleen (Ray) Whitaker of Pocatello, Idaho. He is also survived by three stepchildren Daniel (Brenda) Fomich of Massillon, Michele (John) Mellor of Columbiana, and Andrea (Patrick) Solomon of Canton; two brothers Ned (Kate) Aquino of East Canton, and Edmond (Joan) Aquino of Magnolia; three sisters Lucy Geiger of Waynesburg, Amelia Gordon of Sarasota, FL, and Rina Sickle of Canton; three sisters-in-law Judy Aquino, Betty Aquino, and Dessie Clark; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Christ the Servant Catholic Parish, with Msrg. Lewis Gaetano as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. DEWY, DEWY DEWY.
