Rita M. (Chiaramonti) Lanzi, age 84 of Canton, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021. She was born to the late Amos and Mary (Shorie) Chiaramonti on December 19, 1936. Rita was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School; she later retired in 2004 from Plain Local Schools after 20 years as a teachers aide. She always enjoyed seeing Broadway musicals at Playhouse Square, and cross stitching in her spare time.

Along with her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Lanzi, Jr., and sister Helen Vesely. She is survived by her children Frances Ann (Gary) Jervis of Louisville, Oscar Lanzi III of Chicago, Theresa (Greg) Barnes of Louisville, and Lisa (Michael) Poorman of Canton; five grandchildren Rachel (Tom) Baker, Vincent and Anthony Barnes, Ty and Emma Poorman; and great-grandson Thomas Baker. Also survived by sister Florence (James) Sieber.

Family and friends will be received at Christ the Servant Parish on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will begin in the church at 11:30 a.m., with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the Servant Parish.
