Robert G. Ackerman, age 87 of Canton, passed away early Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Canton to the late George and Ann (Doral) Ackerman, he was a 1955 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and an Army veteran. Robert worked for the Timken Company for 18 years and also owned and operated Ackerman's Beer and Wine Carry-Out for 13 years and BoLoMo's Tropical-Sno concessions. He was an avid golfer and had a love for all sports especially McKinley High School and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge #233. Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years LoLita (Carroll) Ackerman, daughter Monica Backer, granddaughter Erika (Kevin) Cavanaugh, great grandchildren Jonathan and Cecelia, brother Bill Ackerman, sister Brenda (Jim) Sommer, sister-in-law LaRue Hess, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 6 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with services to follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Greg Ackerman officiating.
