Robert E. (Bob) Rath age 79 passed away August 11, 2013 of a sudden illness surrounded by wife and his loving family at Aultman Hospital. Born April 4, 1934 in Canton ,Ohio, son of parents, Ola and Theodore Rath, both of whom he cared for throughout their lives. Bob was a active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, including Man of the Year, also a member of the N.C. Elks and Eagles Club. He was a graduate of Canton Lincoln High School, and a graduate of The Ohio State University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force for three years having seen many parts of the world. He was retired from the Steel Division of the Timken Company after 35 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Charlotte Whitehouse, brother-in-law Constantine Beoglos, and in-laws Miltiades and Froso Beoglos. Married for almost 49 years to Joann, Bob and Joann were blessed with three children, Dr. Ted Rath and wife Sally, and their children Megan, Allison, and Michael of Canton; Christine Cook and her children Abby, Jack, and Grace of Columbus; David and Sheri and their children Nicholas and Alex of Columbus, Ohio. Also survived by his beloved sister, Betty Jones, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and many loved nieces and nephews.   Bob was very proud of all of his family. He enjoyed life whether golfing, fishing , sports, or just reading. Bob spent much time with family and friends. He was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was truly a good man who will be missed by all that knew him. The family would like to thank Father Dan Rogich for all of his prayers and support. They would also like to thank the staff at Aultman Hospital for their compassion. Family and friends will be received Wednesday evening at Rossi Funeral Home from 5:30 to 8:30 pm with Trisigion Services at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday at Holy Trinity from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Dan Rogich officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob's name may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church's General Fund.
