Obituary

Robert John Rufo III (Bobby), age 29, born November 13, 1985, of Canton, OH & Charleston, SC. Bobby is survived by his mother Cathy Gallucci-Rufo, father Robert J. Rufo Jr, brother Matthew Rufo, sister Sara Rufo, loving and devoted grandparents Robert and Rosemary Gallucci and Clara J. Rufo, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Preceded in death by his namesake and beloved grandfather Robert J. Rufo Sr. He is a graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and Akron University. Bobby was born in Canton, OH, but considered Charleston, SC his adopted home and cherished the time he spent there. He loved the water, whether it was on his grandfather's pontoon boat on Lake Cable or on the Carolina beaches. His final wishes were that no services would be held and that he would be cremated and his ashes scattered in his "happy place," Sullivan's Island, SC. His beautiful blue eyes and sweet smile will shine in our hearts forever. Just like a person loses their life to cancer, depression is an insidious disease that needs to be talked about and not ignored. Just like Bobby's light will always shine as bright as the sun, we need to turn a bright light on this real problem in our country. Bobby's untimely passing was brought on by depression and caused by hanging. This is a heartbreak no family should ever have to suffer through, but if his death can save even one person that would bring some semblance of meaning to this senseless tragedy. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bobby's memory to Crisis Intervention and Recovery Center, Inc. 2421 13 th St. NW Canton, OH 44708 ( www.circstark.org ).
