RODRIGO "CORBY" FERNANDEZ, age 90 of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning. Born in Kansas to the late Antonio and Clara (Cabo) Fernandez, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Nicholas) Fernandez, son Ray Fernandez and brothers Joseph, Antonio, Manuel and Louis Fernandez. Corby lived most of his life in Canton and was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School. He joined the Merchant Marines then the Navy, serving in WW II. He retired from the Timken Company after 33 years of service as a welder. He was a member of the Corn Center, and avid golfer. He and his wife loved traveling to Las Vegas and gambling in the casinos. Survived by his children; Michael and Connie Fernandez, Toni Fernandez, Tina Fernandez (Ed Guna), three grandchildren; Annee Guna, Mark and Michael Fernandez, great-grandchildren Justice and Mark, brother Ernesto Fernandez, sister Carmen Menendez and numerous nieces and nephews. Please join the family for a celebration of life on Saturday from 12 noon to 1:00 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Corby's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
