March 2, 1931 – November 25, 2018
Roger J. Ascani age 87 of Canton, passed away Sunday. Born in Canton to the late Thomas S. and Filomena (Amici) Ascani, he was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Church. A 1949 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and then Kent State University, Roger worked as a CPA for the Internal Revenue Service for 32 years. He was an Army veteran, member of the North Canton Elks Lodge #2029 and the president of Golden Agers of Little Flower Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis (Cowgill) Ascani, step-daughter Judy (Wesley) Hillman, grandchildren David (Lynda) Hillman, Lisa (Clarence) Tucker, brothers Thomas (Jean) Ascani, Gene (Janet) Ascani, nephews; Thomas Ascani his godson, Todd (Amy) Ascani, niece Tracy (Bryan) Rice, godson Frank (Annette) Carozzi, goddaughter Patricia Cavalier, and his fishing buddies George (Ann) Kast, John (Carolyn) Jandura, James (Dorothy) Tracy. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 10:30 am to 12 noon at St. Anthony/ All Saints Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at noon, Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop celebrant. Entombment will be in Northlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Church (1530 11 th St. SE, Canton, OH 44707).
