Ronald J. Keefer, age 59 of Canton, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 after a brief illness. Born in Phillipi, WV, he was a 1976 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and studied for two years at The Ohio State University. Ron was employed with Midwest Industrial Supply for over 30 years. He was a Navy veteran, enjoyed playing Texas Hold-em and was an animal lover. He was preceded in death by his father James Keefer. Ron is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen (McCallister) Keefer, children Kimberly (Michael) Dimmerling of East Canton, Ohio, Jeremy Keefer of Akron, Ohio, granddaughter Elizabeth Dimmerling, mother and stepfather Irene (Ketchum) and Glen Gamble of Dover, Ohio, sisters Sharon Harmon of Florida, Donna (Ken) Gessel and Marlene Keefer both of Canton. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with Minister Chuck Hopkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mercy Hospice.
