ROSE (FANTIN) FONTE, age 102 of Magnolia, passed away Sunday afternoon. Born in Italy to the late Louis and Louise (Tinor) Fantin, she has lived in the Canton and Magnolia areas since 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband Pasquale Fonte, daughter Patricia Davis Moncrief, sisters Victoria, Ann and brothers Felix, Fidelmo, Jack and Pete Fantin. Rose worked as an inspector for Republic Stamping and then for Skyland Pines Banquet Center from where she retired. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law Frank and Deanna Fonte of Magnolia, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Frank A. Carfagna, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
