IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosemary M.
(Petro) Charles
February 2, 1929 – December 23, 2017
Rosemary M. (Petro) Charles, age 87, of North Canton, passed away on Saturday morning. Rosemary was born in Canton to the late Frank and Angeline (Messaris) Petro. She was very proud of her Italian heritage. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be missed dearly by her entire family. She is survived by her husband Bill with whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage this year. Together they built a family based on faith, love, patience and kindness, and their marriage was a beautiful example of Catholic Christian marriage. She is also survived by three children, Bill and Cindy Charles of North Canton, Angela and Mike Pritchett of Copley and Nancy Pacconi of Canton. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, Will (Michelle) Charles, Sarah (Greg) Luerman, Chris Charles, Rory (Nick) Mamone, Regina Pacconi, Andy (Lisa) Pacconi, Scott (Tracey) Pritchett and Ryan (Amanda) Pritchett. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren. Rosemary was a proud graduate of Timken Vocational High School, where she was an honor student, Timken Leader and a member of the Timken Girls Basketball Team. As a young adult, she worked at Mercy Hospital and Berger Manufacturing. Starting in 1964, she was the principal's secretary at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. She worked there 30 years and was one of the original employees of the school. Her 30 years of service demonstrated her steadfast commitment to the Catholic education of young people in Stark County. It is a legacy carried on by her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her sister Vickie (Frank) Coladonato of Canton, her brother Frank Petro of Pahrump, Nevada and great-granddaughter Gianna Rose Charles of Hinckley. Family and friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am at Little Flower Parish with Pastor Leo Wehrlin officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in the mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
