August 23, 1927 – April 5, 2016
Rudolph J. DeStephen, age 88 of Canton, passed away Tuesday. Born in Canton to the late Anthony and Jennie (DiGiacomo) DeStephen, he was preceded in death by his wife Madaline (Swallie) DeStephen, brothers Ed, Art, Anthony and infant Tony DeStephen, sisters Gloria Pack and Claire Guarino. Rudy graduated from Timken Vocational High School and a member of St. Michael and St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parishes. He was an Army veteran of WW II. He was retired from B & W. Rudy was an avid bowler. Survived by his daughter Donna DeStephen, grandchildren Alicia, Amanda, Rudolph, Joselyne, and Shawna, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Albert (Helen) DeStephen, sisters Dolly Sousaris, JoAnne DeStephen, sisters-in-law Mabel, Lucy and Joan DeStephen and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. Tom Kraszewski celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish.
