Ruth Lillie (Esber) Nowling, age 85 of Canton, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017. She was born in Detroit on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1931 to the late Farris and Laiya Esber. The family moved to Canton in 1939, and Ruth graduated from McKinley High School in 1949. She retired from MB Belden in 1996 and continued to work for the Belden family at the Canton Classic Car Museum. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers Alex, Esber, Jim and Freddie Esber; and sister Hazel Dishnica; and special friend Dick Hixenbaugh. Ruth leaves behind three loving daughters Bobbie Nowling, Becky Yarborough and Mona Nowling; grandaughter Sabrina Nowling; sister-in-law Janet Esber; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends whom she loved. Family and friends will be received Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Trisagion services will start at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating, assisted by Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church (1118 Cherry Ave. N.E. Canton, OH 44704).
