Ruth Shrum, age 90 of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. She was born in Wheeling, WV on February 14, 1935 to the late James and Harriet (Sawyer) Barton. She retired from the Hoover Company after 32 years of employment. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing; Ruth also loved being "everyone's favorite Aunt," as she was affectionately referred to as.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Michael Shrum, five brothers, and four sisters. Ruth is survived by her children Tamm Shrum, Tracy Shrum, and Theodora Block; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings Ben (Shirley) Barton, David Barton, and Doris Kovach; special friend Donna Bartrug; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 3 to 4:45 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 5 p.m., with Pastor Amy Downard officiating.
