Sadie M. Abood-Gazil, age 92 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022. She was born in Canton on February 16, 1930 to the late Asaff and Rashidie Abood. Sadie was a 1949 Timken Vocational High School graduate; a devout Christian, she was a faithful member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. She loved her family and friends with all of her heart.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Gazil, brother George Abood, and sister-in-law Samira Abood. Sadie is survived by her nephew Fahid (Kelly) Abood; niece Darleen (Peter) Schiavo; great-niece and nephew Mila and Luke Schiavo; as well as many friends and relatives.

Family and friends will be received Saturday at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the church at 10 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.
