Sam "Santino" T. Cirelli, age 89 of Canton, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023. Born in Canton to the late Dominic and Mary (D'Ambrosio) Cirelli, he was also preceded in death by his son Michael Cirelli, brothers Donald, Art, Joseph Cirelli, sisters Mary Abbott, Santina Cirelli, and special friend Patricia Whitmyer. Sam was a 1952 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and an avid member of the Bulldog Booster Club. He was a member of the State Highway Employees Association, That Old Gang of Mine, and AARP. Sam retired in 1986 from Tyson Bearing as an inspector after 26 years of service and again in 1996 from the State Highway Department of Inspection. He was a former member of the National Guard. A true Cantonian, Sam was a major sports fan. He also liked politics, TV shows, especially All In The Family, Sanford And Son, Seinfeld, and Westerns. He enjoyed good jokes and, of course, a good plate of pasta. Always devoted to his family and friends. Sam is survived by his son Don Cirelli, grandsons Ryan (Jen) Cirelli, Marcus (Sara) Cirelli, Sammy Cirelli, ex-wife and mother of his sons Mary (Minarcheck) Cirelli, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Committal services will be Tuesday, 11:30 am, at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sam's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
