Obituary

Samuel "Sam" Stepanovich age 80 of Canton, passed away Saturday December 18, 2021. Born in Canton to the late Eli and Margaret (Aventino) Stepanovich, he was a 1959 graduate of Canton South High School. Sam was an Army veteran serving in Germany.. He retired from Diebold after 30 years then worked for Nimen Sheet Metal for 14 years before his final retirement. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3747 and the American Legion Post #44.

Over the course of his life, Sam enjoyed playing cards and drinking an "occasional" beer. He was also an avid golfer. In 2015 he got his first hole in one at Wilkshire Golf Course. His family and friends meant the world to him.

Sam is survived by his wife of 55 years June (Sheatzley) Stepanovich, daughter Jody (Ken) Hardesty and their daughter Kayla Hardesty, daughter Jacqueline (Kevin) Dick and their daughter Megan Dick and her children Lilah and Liam, son Samuel (Suzi) Stepanovich Jr. and their children Arielle (Kyle) Frame, Jordan (Ashton ) Kimberly, and Tyler Stepanovich, also sisters Helen Gooch, Cathy (Buddy) Forehope, Gloria Stepanovich, brothers Michael Stepanovich, Eli Stepanovich (Diana), George Stepanovich, Nick (Diane) Stepanovich, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
