Sandra Jean (DiMichele) Garman, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2026, after a long battle with dementia.
She was born in Canton, Ohio, on November 4, 1943, to the late Rolando and Helen (DiFiori) DeMichele. Sandra graduated from Timken Vocational High School. She was a member of Canton Baptist Temple and a former member of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, where she also worked for 10 years. Sandra also worked as a bookkeeper at the Oriole’s Nest 315 for 15 years, and later retired from her brother’s restaurant, Rolando’s, after 40 years as a professional waitress. Sandra enjoyed volunteering at the Samaritan’s Table and at Mercy Hospital.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Garman; her long-time partner, Louis Vukovinsky; her brother, Henry DiMickele; and her sisters, Dolly (Marc) Blanc and Katherine (Sam) Soptelean.
Sandra is survived by her children Todd (Christina) DiMichele and Anthony (Angela) Garman; grandchildren Brianna, Casandra, Marissa, Olivia, Isabella, Adam (Susie), Andrew (Nicole), Mackenzie (Harrison), Jagger, Rocco, and Kash; and great-grandchildren Capri, Thomas, Ellie, Emma, Lorelai, Lucy, Roman, and Renley. She is also survived by siblings Joanne (Henri Abecassis) Creedon, Rolando DiMickele Jr., Joe (Marina) DiMichele, Antoinette (Jim) Barnhart; brother-in-law Merle (Linda) Garman, sister-in-law Helen DiMickele. As well as Louis’ children, Michael, Tom, Brian, Christina, and all of his grandchildren. Sandra also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews.
Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be greatly missed.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from noon to 12:45 at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
