Sandra K. Hartsel completed a beautiful life of 81 years on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Sandra blessed the lives of so many as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend. Sandra was born on March 3, 1945, to Forrest and Dorothy Moss. She grew up in Canton, Ohio, where she met and married her “knight in shining armor,” Gordon “Corky” Hartsel. Together, Sandra and Corky built a peaceful and loving home in North Canton, where they raised two very fortunate children, Julie and Chris. Sandra and Corky shared a sense of humor that touched everyone around them. Sandra had a contagious laugh that could make even the worst dad jokes better. As strong as her laughter was, her faith was even stronger. Sandra deeply loved our Lord Jesus Christ, and that love guided the sincere care and compassion she showed to others throughout her life. She was funny, loving, and devoted to setting an example for her children through both her words and actions. While working full-time and raising two children, Sandra earned her bachelor’s degree from Kent State University, graduating with honors, Summa Cum Laude, and Phi Beta Kappa distinction. She later retired from the Canton City School District and continued sharing her love of learning through her work as an executive assistant at the Canton Student Loan Foundation. Sandra’s absence will be deeply felt by the many friends and family whose lives she touched. To those grieving her loss, Sandra would want them to remember the promise that our Lord will wipe away every tear and that death shall be no more. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Corky; her children, Julie and Chris (Trellie) Hartsel; her two grandchildren, Asher and Gavin; and cherished extended family member, Estrella Tunacao. Calling hours will be held at Rossi Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the Servant Parish (Our Lady of Peace) on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
