Sandy M. Fire, age 92 of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning after a short illness. Born in Canton to the late Salvatore and Josephine (Impagliozza) Fire, he was preceded in death by his wife Elvira (Preda) Fire, brothers Joseph, Nick, and Charles Marcelli, James and Robert Fire, sisters Mary (Marcelli) Mercorelli and Susan (Marcelli) Perrenoud. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the Louisville Eagles. Sandy was an Army veteran of WW II. He retired from LTV Steel. Survived by his daughter Nickie Conwell (Akron), son David Fire (Torrance, California), and sister Angeline Fire. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to special friends Ruth and Gail Essicks, Jim and Dee Norris and the Taylor family. Respecting Sandy's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Benson Okpara, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The funeral procession will form at the church Tuesday morning. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity in Sandy's name.
