Scott A. "Gup" Gephart age 60 of Canton passed away Tuesday afternoon. Scott was born in Canton on January 8, 1954 to the late Albert Gephart and Ruth (Medley) Fredey. Scott was a 1972 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. A 1977 graduate of Malone University where he earned his Masters Degree in Education. After 35 years of service as a teacher and coach Scott retired from the Northwest School District. He was currently employed by Barbato Flowers. Scott was well know in the community as far back to his college years where at Malone he played on the basketball team and was a Javelin thrower on the track team. He has been playing slowpitch and fumbleball in the stark county

area with a number of teams for many years. He was currently playing in the Silver League in Barberton. Scott was inducted into the Stark County Amateur Fumbleball and Slowpitch Hall of Fames. More recently Scott was part of the band "Old School Rockers." Prior to that he was part of "The Fairmont Boys." He enjoyed being with his band of Brothers. In addition to his parents Scott was preceded in death by his sister Kathy Cook and step-father Paul Fredey. He is survived by his loving wife Judy with whom he would have celebrated 25years of marriage on July 22, 2014, two sons Craig of San Francisco, Ca., and Cody of the home, and sister Patty Kramer of Delroy,Ohio. Friends and family will be received Friday (Tonight) from 6 to 9pm at Rossi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10am at Rossi Funeral Home.
