February 4, 1924 – September 17, 2016

Our dear Sister, Mary Assumpta McManus PCPA has gone home to the Lord! It was on the Holy Franciscan Feast of the Stigmata of St. Francis September 17th, that He was most pleased to gather this gentle soul to Himself while she lay in quiet rest as a resident at Regina Health Center in Richfield, Ohio. A person of humble expectation, who offered herself with no more grand an evaluation than that of willingness, she was much loved by all who came into her gracious sphere of companionship. At the monastery, she was a familiar figure, dutifully tending her area of work, day by day, in front of a hardworking dishwasher, pausing to go pluck a goodie from the snack corner or bending in warm conversation with our little kitty and always bestowing a smile on anyone within her vicinity. In church, she could be counted on to inspire prayer, her lips moving in a low utterance of voice. How lovable was she; gone now to the God who was and is her all! The eldest of two children, born on February 4th, 1924 in Coshocton Ohio, to William James McManus and Esther Green-McManus, she grew up largely in Canton, Ohio about which she showed in her extensive knowledge of its history a great appreciation of her home locale and its people. She was a great listener too. So come then and join with us at her Funeral Mass, with Fr. Thomas Bishop presiding as our main celebrant, in the Chapel of Sancta Clara Monastery, on Wednesday, September 21st at 10:00 AM in our final celebration of her beautiful life! Wake services will take place at the monastery on September 20th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and again before the Mass on the following day. Internment will be in the Monastery Cemetery.
