Sophie A. (Spilios) Vitale, age 73 of Canton, passed away peacefully Monday morning. Sophie was grace, beauty, humor, and love. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly "Momo." Born in Canton to the late Samuel and Stella (Rubanski) Spilios, she was preceded in death by her brother Tony Spilios, and mother-in-law Lucille "Chickie" Spilios. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Robert Vitale, daughters Stephanie (Dwayne) Cornell, Kristen (Erik) Peterson and their children Stella Sophia and Baekeland, Jennifer (Maxwell) Deuble and their children Lucy and Hilty, son Steven (Susie) Vitale and their children Violet and Brady, brother Pete Spilios, and sister-in-law Theresa Spilios. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. Edward Beneleit, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
