STELLA (VALSAMOS) SOUSARIS, age 84 of Canton passed away Tuesday afternoon after an extended illness. Born in Nikea, (Piraeus), Greece to the late Christos and Tasia (Nicoli) Valsamos, she emigrated to Canton in 1958. She was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church and the Agia Markela Society. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Adam Sousaris, daughter and son-in-law Irene and Peter Basiakos of Columbus grandsons Steven and Alexander Basiakos, brothers and sister-in-law Bill and Maria Valsamos of New York, George Valsamos of Greece, sister Zaharoula Geronastopoulou of Greece, sister-in-law Norma Jean "Dolly" Sousaris of Canton and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by brother-in-law Michael G. Sousaris. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 10 to 11am at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with funeral services to follow at 11am with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Stella's name may be made to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 251 25 ^th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709 or the Alzheimer's Association, Greater East Ohio Chapter, 70 W Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
