Takis Tzouloufis, age 84 of Canton, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026. He was born in Athens, Greece on July 20, 1941, to the late Zaffirios and Alexandra Tzouloufis. Takis was the owner and operator of The Lamplighter restaurant, located in Florence, South Carolina, for 20 years, retiring in 2009. Upon retirement, he moved to Canton to be near his son and family. He was an active and dedicated member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, where he was part of the Silver Liners, AHEPA #59, Choir, and a fish fry and festival volunteer. Most of all, he was one of the kindest humans to ever walk the Earth.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Fotini. Takis is survived by his children Dennis (Aristea) Tzouloufis of Canton, and Alexandra (Vasili) Tsakonas of Athens, Greece; grandchildren Zoe, Panagiota, and George; great-grandchild Nikitas; and sister Maria Hatzigeorgiadou of Greece.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the church at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Takis' name, to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church.
