Takla G. Farah (Shaheen) 86, of Canton, fell asleep with the Lord on

Friday, April 3, 2026. She was born on February 10, 1940, in Arneh,

Syria to the late George and Mariam Shaheen. Takla was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Canton and the Ladies of St. George. She worked as a professional seamstress retiring from Dalton Industries in Canton. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with friends and family. She was a loving mother, sito (grandmother), and aunt. Our sweet mom, Takla, knew no strangers.

Takla was a strong spirited woman who was deeply committed to the

principles and practices of the Christian faith, allowing her beliefs to fundamentally shape her character, daily actions, and life decisions with the utmost humility and humbleness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband

Sidney, of 48 years, brother Faiz Shaheen, and nephew George Shaheen.

She is survived by her daughters Danielle (Jay) Seese, Liz (Carl)

Macris; beloved grandchildren Farah Cook, Anissa Seese, Andrew Seese,

and Marios Macris; her sisters Julia Kousiry, Michel (Richard) Genda,

Nina Shaheen; her brother Sid Shaheen, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

A very special thank you to Crossroads Hospice and the Inn at Northwood memory care staff for their daily care, compassion, and overwhelming love for Takla. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to The Very Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin for his continuous prayers, visits and blessings.

A private funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations

can be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Takla’s name.
