F. Haidet, Sr.
May 29, 1923 – November 5, 2013
Theodore F. "Ted" Haidet Sr.age 90 of Canton passed away Tuesday at House of Loreto. Ted was born in Marlboro on May 29, 1923 to the late Alonzo and Florence (Wey) Haidet. He was a member of Christ the Servant Catholic Parish. A former member of the Men's Club of the church , Knights of Columbus North Canton Counsel, and Sons of Italy Ben Marconi Lodge 1631. Ted was a veteran of WWII having served in the Army and was decorated with the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, American Theater Ribbon, Distinguished Unit Badge, and the Victory Medal. He was a retired Electrician for IBEW Local 540 where he was a member for 61 years. In addition to his parents Ted was preceded in death by five brothers Paul, Ken, Harold, Dick, and Bob and one sister Catherine. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Margaret (Jeffries) of the home, one son and daughter-in-law Ted and Debby Haidet of Canton, two daughters and son-in-law Cindy (Haidet) and Mike Spence of Mansfield and Lori (Haidet) Edmunds and Dan Miller of North Canton, one brother Ray Haidet of Canton and one sister-in-law Betty Haidet of Louisville, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, and a number of neices and nephews. Family and friends will be received Friday evening
from 5 to 8pm at Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10am at Christ the Servant Parish with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano, celebrant. The family would like to thank the staff at the House of Loreto for the loving care they showed our father. Donations may be made in Ted's name to the House of Loreto.
