Thomas Patrick Harshman, 73, of Canton, Ohio, died suddenly on September 26th, 2014. Tom was born in Sutton, West Virginia, on January 22, 1941, the son of Thomas and Lucy Frame. At the age of five, following the death of his mother, he was adopted by Paul and Helen Harshman of Alliance, Ohio. It was in Alliance that he met his wife, Patricia, and the two shared 53 years of marriage. Tom is survived by his wife, Patricia and their three children: sons, Jon and Tom, both of Canton, and daughter, Kimberly (Carmine) Ricchetti, also of Canton. In addition, Tom is survived by his two beloved granddaughters, Isabella and Gabriella, who lovingly referred to him as "poppy." He is survived by a sister, Barb (Bob) Weglicki of Westlake, Ohio. Tom was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He retired from the Dominion East Ohio Gas Company. Tom was a gentle spirit who was kind to everyone he met. He firmly believed if you had no words of kindness or encouragement you should speak no words at all. He was quick witted, and it was difficult to be in his company without having a good laugh. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. We will try our best to emulate your gentle ways and quiet dignity with which you lived your life. Private memorial service will be held for the family at Rossi funeral home.
