Thomas J. Prestier, Jr., age 87 of North Canton, passed away early Thursday morning. Born in Canton to the late Thomas J. Sr. and Rose (Martelli) Prestier, he was preceded in death by his grandson Mark, sisters Eleanor Morabito, Geraldine Fusco, brothers Rudy and Frank Prestier, Jim Prandine, and step-mother Margaret Prestier. He was an Army veteran, member of Christ the Servant Parish, and That Old Gang of Mine. He was inducted into the Greater Canton Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. An avid golfer, Thomas got a hole in one at the Chi Chi Rodriquez Country Club. He retired from Sugardale Meats after 32 years of service. He was the owner of Tomasino's from 1974 to 2012. Thomas is survived by his wife of 64 years Josephine (Fedeli) Prestier, sons Doug (Krista) of Canton, Mark (Michelle) of North Canton, Scott Prestier of Canton, eight grandchildren; Julie, Valerie, Kristy, Denise, Beau, Braden, Brock, Baylee, six great-grandchildren, brother Jerry (Alice) Prestier, brothers-in-law John Morabito, Joe Fusco, sister-in-law Wanda Prestier, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in Christ the Servant Parish with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano celebrant. Internment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hanover House.
