Timothy "Tim" R. Preece, age 76 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026 Born in Massillon on August 29, 1949 to the late Marvin and Marjorie (Aeling) Preece, he was a 1967 graduate of Canton Central Catholic. He later earned his Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Kent State University in 1972. Tim retired from the Timken Company after 34 years of working in the I.T. department. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish at St. Anthony Church, the Unique Club of Stark County, and a Senator for the J.C.I.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Elaine (Martino) Preece; children Jeff (Angela) Preece and Kelly (Dr. Chris) Dennis; grandchildren Jaden Dennis, Anthony Preece, Jude Dennis, and Henry Preece; and sister Linda Preece.

Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish at St. Anthony Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
