Vera L. (Margiotta) Moore, age 92 of Canton, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017. She was born in Canton on September 11, 1924 to the late Joseph and Mary (Santacroce) Margiotta. Vera was part of the first graduating class of Lincoln High School in 1943. She was a former member of St. Benedict Catholic Parish, and later joined St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish. She was employed by Hercules Motors, where she was a Payroll Clerk. Vera enjoyed sewing, gardening, making strawberry jam and pizzelles, and cooking meals for her family; but most of all, she loved her grandchildren and the love they gave back to her. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glen Moore; two sisters Elizabeth Drozda and Gloria Bankovich; and granddaughter Kimberly. She is survived by her children Joanne (Jeff) Hill of Canton, and Jane (Vance) Snyder of Lakewood; four grandchildren Christopher and Kelly Hill, and Alyssa and Austin Snyder. Family and friends will be received Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 noon, with Rev. Fr. Don King as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank The Pines Nursing Home for their compassion and care for their mother over the last two years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
