Wayne E. Bigler, Sr., age 90 of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening. Also known as "Bud", he was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio to the late Edward and Mildred (Wallace) Bigler. He was an Army veteran and proudly served his country in combat tours in WW II and the Korean War. He retired from the Ohio Army National Guard in 1971, earning the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2). He then went to work for Sears and later as a starter at Rolling Green Golf Course. Wayne loved to play golf and was still playing this past spring. He was a dedicated soldier, an honorable man, a kind soul, a loving husband, and an incredible role model to his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 68 years Angeline (Lombardi) Bigler, children Cynthia (Ray) Nero, Wayne (Teresa) Bigler, Jr. of Melbourne, FL, Dwayne Bigler and Jeff Bigler. Wayne's greatest joys were his grandchildren: Diana Nero, Denise (Luke) Tullius, Dina Jones, Elliott Bigler, Michael Alicea, Karen Bigler, Ashley (Chad) Burroughs, Andrea Bigler, and great-grandchildren Makenna, Angel, Lila, Taylor, Jenise, Natalya, Kallena, and Kyler. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Bigler, sister Mary Jeanne Rankin, brothers Darwin, Roy and Robert Bigler. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 pm with Dr. Roger S. Alber officiating. Respecting Wayne's wishes he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Massillon, 20 Sixth Street SE, Massillon, OH 44646.
