Obituary

On March 11, 2025, William Campian Jr. moved on from this world in peace, grateful for the life he lived. Born to William Campian Sr. and Beverly Campian on January 1, 1952, little Billy started his adventures early on, where he lived as an "only child" for the first decade of his life, before his brothers, Steve, and John, came into the picture.

After graduating Oakwood High School in 1969 with his best friend, the late Jimmy Cook, he then went on to Kent State University, where he was just as well received. He spent much of his youth with his cousins and family friends, and was an avid Rock 'n Roll fan, playing in numerous music groups throughout his lifetime. In 1970, his band placed third in Ohio's Battle of the Bands.

After college, Bill moved to North Carolina, where he lived for 12 years. There, he worked in the restaurant industry and was recognized by the likes of Richard Thomas while running around with one of his best buddies at the time, the late Mark Livengood, together pursuing one venture after the next.

Along with his brothers, Bill was always entrepreneurially minded. He created Ohio Hood Systems, a restaurant exhaust hood business; and Food Runners, a food delivery service, decades ahead of its time.

After having spent his business earnings living extravagantly and eventually concluding his ventures, Bill found himself rebuilding a life. That is where, in his late forties, he met his wife Elaine. Together the two dedicated themselves to raising their son, as they rebuilt together— some of that building being quite literal, as Bill completely reconstructed their home in its entirety throughout the next twenty years.

A conversationalist, Bill spent his last decades providing for his family through his career in sales, forming meaningful bonds with his customers and colleagues at Crown Heating and Cooling, where he excelled thanks to his technical expertise. (Expertise which he would let no one forget, even outside of work!) He was truly passionate about each project he applied himself to, in work and in life.

He expressed often that, out of the many noteworthy and exciting things he'd done throughout his life, his most prized accomplishment was his success in his family life— and through his family and loved ones, he lives on.

William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine; his parents, William Campian Sr. and Beverly Campian; and his brother, Stephan. He is survived by his son, Cameron; his brother, John (Pam); as well as many loving extended family members on both sides—namely, nieces Anna, Hannah, JoHaunna; nephews Adrien, Eric, Wesley, Will; in-laws Desiree (Elaine's Sister) and Tracey (Stephan's wife); the many Campian cousins he grew up with, and Elaine's relatives, with whom he grew close.

Bill was known for his laid-back, easy-going attitude. "Everything is an experience—even this." It was of no surprise to anyone that, even during the last moments of his life, he was cracking jokes the whole way through.

Calling hours will be held between 10 AM and 12 PM on Saturday, March 22 at Rossi Funeral Home, 730 30th St NW, Canton, OH 44709, followed by a memorial service.
