William "Ken" DeHaven, age 85, of North Canton passed away in Aultman Hospice on Friday, June 28, 2013 following a brief illness. Born in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania on August 23, 1927 to Harry and Mary DeHaven, he had lived in Louisville and North Canton since 1968. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 2010 to whom he was married for 58 years, and by one sister and two brothers, Genevieve Lance, James and Roy DeHaven. He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Richard of Zanesville and Thomas (Beverly) of North Canton; sisters Helen Kolbrecki of Davidsonville MD and Mary Lou Nagle of Greenbelt MD, brother Frank (Gerry) DeHaven of Beltsville MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the US Army and was a Korean War veteran. He retired from Conrail in 1989 after 43 years of service. The family will receive friends at Rossi Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, July 2, 2013 between 8:30 and 9:30 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Canton with Father Edward Beneleit officiating. Entombment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, 726 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton, Ohio 44702.
