Alan J. Gurney

Alan J. Gurney age 75 of Canton, passed away early Saturday. Born in Canton to the late Glenn and Evelyn (Oldfield) Gurney, he was preceded in death by his brother Kent Gurney. Alan was a 1963 graduate of Lehman High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Akron University. He enjoyed playing guitar, music and the Cleveland Indians, but most of all he was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan. Alan is survived by his children Jeff (Holly Michaud) Gurney, Erica (Gregory Wright) Gurney, nine grandchildren; Amanda and Emily Taylor, Brandon Gurney, Tyler Lemery, Lyndsay Erdy, Morgan, Garrett, and Conner Gurney, Eliot Thompson, four great grandchildren; Quinn Bauschard, Griffin Taylor, June and Berkley Gurney. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 p m at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with services to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Henry Warstler Cemetery.
