Albert S. Hosner, age 94, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at his home in Canton, Ohio. Al was born July 2, 1927 in Canton to the late Stanley and Anna Hosner. He was a longtime member of St. Joan of Arc Church. Al was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School where he met his wife, Lucy. They celebrated 66 wonderful and loving years together! Al was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Al was also highly regarded as a Grand Knight in the K of C #4533. Al, along with his wife Lucy, were founders and operators of Hosner Carpets starting their business in 1966. The family business is still known today for its honest and caring values and service that Al and Lucy first instilled in their business! Hosner Carpet One has now expanded to include two ProSource stores. Al & Lucy enjoyed several hobbies together over the years: bowling, playing cards, and traveling; but the greatest joy in their lives was being with their family.
Along with his parents and beloved wife, Lucy, Al was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Hosner-Lucius; three brothers: Frank, Brownie, and Mike; and one sister, Stella Ecrement. Al is survived by his sons: Stan (Ruthann) Hosner, Terry (Chris) Hosner, Joseph (Kelly) Hosner, and William (Gina) Hosner, and two daughters: Sandy (Red) Fouts, Christine (Tim) Cummins; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great- great grandson; as well as many nieces and nephews. During his last years, Al received additional loving care from his nephew Paul, granddaughters Leah and Maggie, nieces Rosie, Sue, and Ashley, and caregivers Cristi and Elaine.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Funeral Home Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church with Rev. Fr. Brian Cline as celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joan of Arc Church in Al's memory.
