Albert C. Rose Jr, 78, of Jackson Township, Ohio, passed away on September 16th 2021. Born in Canton, Ohio to the late Albert Sr. and Sarah Rose, Al graduated from Walsh College in 1967, and joined the United States Air Force. He received an honorable discharge with the rank of Captain in 1971. Returning to Canton, he maintained two jobs; he was a cement contractor and an air traffic controller until 1981 when he bought his first Kraus’ Pizza on Fulton Rd. He bought his second Kraus’ Pizza on Main St in North Canton 6 years later.
Al was a devout Catholic, and longtime member of St Michael the Archangel Church. He loved to travel and spend time boating, fishing and camping with his wife of 53 years, Patricia, his 5 children Anne (Jeff) Springer, Albert (Stacey) Rose III, Anthony (Erica) Rose, Jo Anna (Kenneth) Schwenning, John Rose, and his 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Carroll (Russell) Phillips and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Marilyn.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Michael the Archangel Church in Canton on Wednesday, September 22nd at 11:00 am with Rev. Fr. Benson Okpara celebrant. Internment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Walsh University; Albert C Rose Jr Scholarship Fund.
Al was beloved by his family, friends and anyone who walked into the pizza shop. He will be greatly missed. Nobody did it better Pop.
