Albina "Bina" P. (Perez) Vega

Albina “Bina” P. Vega, age 94 of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. She was born in Logrezana, Spain on November 11, 1928 to the late Manolo and Luz (Cuervo Garcia) Perez. Albina immigrated to the United States at the age of 13 with her two siblings.

She attended McKinley High School, and was employed by Sugardale Foods, where she later retired from. An active member of St. Louis Parish in Louisville, she was part of the Bereavement Committee. Albina was also a volunteer for the Samaritan's Table and a member of the Spanish American Women's Club.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Louis Vega, brother Manuel Perez, sister Armonia Fernandez, and sister-in-law Willadean Perez. Albina is survived by her children Christine (Jim) Schneider and Michael Vega both of Louisville; grandchildren Mick (Jennifer) Schneider, Mark (Samantha) Schneider, and Emily (Dustin) Bartlett; and great-grandchildren Taylor, Lanie, and Parker. Also survived by brother-in-law John Fernandez, and eight nephews and nieces.

Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at St. Louis Parish. A Mass of Christian burial will begin in the church at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
