Anthony N. Ramphos
Anthony passed away on August 5. He was born on November 14, 1972. He fought a courageous battle with renal cell carcinoma for 4 ½ years. He graduated from GlenOak HS in 1991 and was a member of the football team. He married Mara Berger in 2005 and they have a son Nicholas. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Anthony and Margaret Ramphos and James and Harriet Marinos and his Uncle Tony Marinos and his Thea, Georgia Wacker. He is survived by his wife Mara of 18 years and his son Nicholas, his parents Nick and Eros Ramphos, sister Dina (Jason) DiDonato and their children Emily and Alex, his close Toronto family, Aris & Marcia Kaplanis, brother-in-law, Adam (Kavita) Berger and their children, Landon and Cayla, in-laws Bernie and Gail Berger, Sam Trikilas (Debbie) his first cousin, Matt Collins, his best friend and confidante. He organized all of the golf trips for his buddies (Sam, Ed, Nouno Steve, Kosta, Ron, Dad, Steven) in Nags Head, NC. Anthony wore many hats in the business world. He was an outstanding salesman for Park Honda, managed Oak Express Furniture Company. He worked for Ram Leathercare and then moved into operating Kitchen Stainless Hoods and Pitched Roof Service Platforms. He developed and designed the prototype for the platforms which are sold throughout the country. What he really loved was his church, St. Haralambos. He was an altar boy, member of GOYA youth group, played on the basketball team and also coached the boys team. He was a member of the parish council. He worked for the Summerfest from its start in 1984 when he was 12. He was a big part of our Summerfest kitchen crew. He helped design the present day stainless kitchen we use today. Anthony had a great sense of humor, a quick with, intelligent, a big heart and always greeted you with a smile. He was a loving and caring husband and father to Mara and Nicholas. Family and friends will be received at St. Haralambos on Wednesday, August 9 from 10 Am to 12 Noon. The funeral service will begin at 12 Noon with Reverend Protopresbyter Nicholas Gamvas and Rev. Dr. Deacon Keric Shiepis officiating. Donations and memorials can be sent to the St. Haralambos church office.
