Carol Anne DiStefano, age 88, passed away on July 8th, 2023, at Dominion Senior Living in Clemson, South Carolina, with her family by her side. Carol was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 24, 1935, and was raised in Canton, OH. She graduated from McKinley High School in Canton, where she was the reigning football queen in 1954. Carol went on to marry Richard (Dick) Albert with whom she had three children. She worked as a realtor in Canton, followed by 25 years as a cashier at Fisher Foods.
Carol was a devoted, loving, wonderful mother, and she cherished her children and family more than life. She loved traveling both nationally and abroad, enjoying her most treasured trip to Israel. She also loved dancing and listening to music, especially from the ‘50s and ‘60s. Over the years, Carol had many beloved pets that she adored. Carol loved talking about Jesus and how wonderful she thought Heaven would be. Her faith was instilled in her entire family from the beginning.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents William and Lida Leidig of Canton, her four siblings, and late husbands, Joseph DiStefano of North Canton, William Rollins of Canton, and Thomas Meese of Canton. She is survived by her three children: Debbie (Jeff Brannan) of Anderson, SC, Cindy (Bruce Hadley) of Seneca, SC, and Doug Albert of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren: Derek (Elisa Sisterhen) of Apex, NC, Shayna Jackson of Massillon, OH, Sarah (Ben Bowles) of Greenville, SC, and Chad and Nick Brannan of Canton, OH; and seven great-grandchildren: Knowledge and Kneveiah Poole and Sharaya Jackson from Massillon, OH, Owen, Nora, and Elsie Sisterhen of Apex, NC, and Hadley Bowles of Greenville, SC. Carol was also blessed to share in the lives of her former husbands’ children and families.
Carol’s family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Upstate of SC who watched over and took care of their dear mother during her final months. They are also incredibly grateful for the care provided by Dominion Senior Living at Patrick Square in Clemson, SC. Carol will be truly missed by all who knew her, especially her loving family.
Family and friends will be received at Rossi Funeral Home on Saturday, July 15th from 10-11:30 AM. Service will begin at 11:30 AM. A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family.
