Carol A. (Thorley) Friedman age 96 of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening. Born in Canton to the late Donald and Hilda (Huppert) Thorley, she was preceded in death by her husband Leo Friedman, sister Ruth Kimmel, brothers Alvin and Harry Thorley. She was a 1939 graduate of McKinley High School and a member of Christ the Servant Parish. Carol loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She especially enjoyed baking cookies for everyone and would always supply her family and neighbors with Christmas cookies. She is survived by her children Thomas L. Friedman, Robert J. (Janet) Friedman, Dan M. (Barbara) Friedman, Nancy Friedman Prendes (Ray), six grandchildren; Robert and Joel Friedman, Nicole (Luke) Cleland, Matthew (Kate) Prendes, Daniel and Amanda Friedman, three great-grandchildren: Lucy and Jude Cleland, Theodore Prendes, and sister-in-law Dolores Thorley. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in Christ the Servant Parish with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano celebrant. Internment will be in Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Carol's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
