Charles Bond Obituary

Charles L. "Chuck" Bond, 91, went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2021. He was surrounded by loving family and passed peacefully at home in Canton, Ohio.

Chuck was born on 12 May 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles G. and Louise A. Bond. He played basketball in high school and college at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Following graduation from college, Chuck married Suzy Coleman and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After his 2 years in the Marines, Chuck and Suzy moved back to Ohio. He received an MBA from the University of Toledo and began his career as an economic forecaster in the tire industry; Cooper Tire, BF Goodrich, Uniroyal Tire and he retired from Michelin in 1992.

Chuck loved life; he loved to travel and always had a suitcase packed. He loved people and never met a stranger; anyone who spent time with him felt like the most important person in the world. He loved his family; every milestone was a reason to celebrate. He loved Jesus; he participated in worship and daily bible study to the end of his life. He loved his community(s); his philanthropic philosophy of life was to serve and contribute.

Chuck was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Suzy, as well as a sister Susan and brother Richard. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Kimerly (David) Hinkelman, Beverly Boulton, Nancy (Todd) Bundy and sons Chip (Judy) Bond and Doug (Jennifer) Bond; 16 grandchildren(30+ including spouses), 12 great grandchildren, and many more who knew him as "Papa." His loving extended family includes John and Bonnie Coleman, Nancy Null, Suzanne Bond and many nieces and nephews.

Chuck Bond had an uplifting spirit, was a living example of love and grace and was a role model and inspiration to all who knew him.
