Christ Siminges Obituary

Christ Siminges, age 83 of Canton, passed away early Thursday morning. Born in Canton to the late Stergios and Varvara (Haralambos) Siminges, he was preceded in death by his sister Katherine Siminges. Christ was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School and an Army veteran. He was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church and the V.F.W. He worked for 30 years for Fisher Foods as a manager, first at the Cherry St. store then retiring from the West Tuscarawas St. store. He was the best husband, father, Papou, and provider for his family. Survived by his wife Carol (Stone) Siminges with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage on July 1, 2015, son Steve Siminges, daughter Elaine K. Siminges, and grandson Samuel. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Trisagion services will be Monday at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Haralambos Church.
